We met at Cajun Grille in Wetumpka.  Bob Hinson called the meeting to order at 7:10 p.m.

Flip’s Cruise-Ins – Bob attended the meeting with the other club Presidents to pick which months each club would sponsor the Flip’s Cruise-Ins.  The GM Club will host the June (July 4th theme) and October (Halloween theme) cruise-ins.  There will not be any Flip’s cruise-ins during the months of November and December.  Instead, everyone will join the GM Club in their annual Toys for Tots Cruise-In.  This will help increase the attendance at our event.

Jerry Lowery – with the Tri-County Mustang Club - took several months for his club as well.  They will be hosting the next Flip’s Cruise-In in February with a Mardi Gras theme – so dress up your car and yourself in purple and gold to reflect the Mardi Gras theme.  Everyone will be able to sample some King Cake – the annual treat of Mardi Gras.  The person who gets the “golden baby” inside their piece of King Cake will be designated the King (or Queen) of Mardi Gras – complete with crown.  So everyone show up to support our fellow GM Club member.

Minutes

We met at Cajun Grille in Wetumpka.  Bob Hinson called the meeting to order at 6:35 p.m.

PAST EVENTS:

Toys For Tots – Our annual Toys For Tots cruise-in was extremely successful.  This was the largest amount of toys we have ever collected.  The Marine Corps representatives were also pleased.  They want to pre-promote this cruise-in next year by having spots on Channel 12.  Bob suggested that we maintain EastChase as our regular location so we can start a routine.  There also are lots of places to eat nearby.  Bob thanked everyone who helped set up, park, take down, etc.  We had a lot of help.

Christmas Family – Bob thanked everyone for their donations to the Christmas Family.  Jerry  will  post photos of this on our web site.  One of our club members used his own funds and purchased items for this family and then presented them along with the donation check from our club.  There also was a Santa Claus participating.

Christmas Party – Everyone had a great time at our annual Christmas Party.  Bob decided that the club needs to do something like this during the middle of the year as well to get folks together to just have fun.  We could have dinner at another location in lieu of a club meeting one month.  Let Bob know if you have any ideas or locations.

Pinks All Out or Pinks Out Takes should be on SPEED TV in March but Bob has not received official notification.  He will let us know the exact date.  Bob's Buick was chosen a feature car and he was interviewed for the Pinks Out Takes Show so make sure you watch to see our own local TV stars.

UPCOMING EVENTS:

Hooters 2nd Annual Ford-GM Show & Shine at Hooters in Montgomery, March 7 jointly hosted by the Tri-County Mustang Club and the GM High Performance Club.  All makes and models of GM and Ford welcome.  Registration $15, Hours 8-4, Door prizes, no judging, plaques to all registered vehicles, Special awards to Best Ford, Best GM, Hooters Girls Pick and Hooters Best of Show, Info: Jerry Lowery 334-233-5369 or Ronnie Ladet 334-799-0700

Flips – Bob and Jerry will meet with the other club Presidents to decide which months each club will take for sponsorship of the monthly Flip’s cruise-in next Tuesday.  Bob will definitely fight for our club to host the annual Halloween cruise, but does not see a problem with that month.  He will suggest that the winter break for the Flips cruise be for the months of November and December.  Bob will try make sure the GM Club gets some good and fair months.

Joey Cummings made the center-fold in “0-60” magazine with his green Charger alongside the new Charger.  It is a great article and great pictures.  Make sure you congratulate our own “centerfold”.

GM HIGH PERFORMANCE CLUB

We met at Cajun Grille in Wetumpka.  Bob Hinson called the meeting to order at 6:55 p.m.

Flip’s Halloween Cruise-In – Bob thanks everyone for their help with the Flip’s Halloween Cruise-in.  He received lots of compliments about everything from the decorations and the costume contest to the number of awards.  Bob had such good support that he was even able to change into a costume and enjoy himself.  Next year we might even add another tent – but if it is windy again, the haunted castle will not be inflated.  Thanks again to everyone for another successful Cruise-In.

PINKS All Out – Saturday, November 15 at Montgomery Motorsports Park.  Jimmie Middleton handed out a work list for all the people who have volunteered to assist in parking.  The gates open at 7:00 on Saturday.  There are three shifts – 7:30 – 12:00; 11:30 – 4:00; and 3:30 – 8:00.  Everyone will not be expected to work the entire 4.5 hours but we will need two people taking money, one person farther down the road directing traffic, two people directing cars into the parking lot and two people showing people where to park.  Everyone who volunteers will get a yellow wrist band to allow them free entry into the Park for Saturday.  Parking vests will also be available.  Bob was at the Park on Thursday before they even opened and he had to wait 1.5 hours to just get in.  Bob has a good spot at the end of vendor row, close to the restrooms.  His car trailer will be there for everyone to use to get out of the weather, relax and just visit with other race lovers.  We still need parking signs, money bags and zipper fanny packs for the money collectors.  Bob has change for the parkers.  There are lots of vendors and plenty to see so show up on time for your designated parking time then hang around to see all the action on the drag strip.  We hope to collect lots of money for our charities.  Thanks to everyone who has already volunteered.

GM Christmas party – Friday, December 12 at Huntington College.  Use the Huntington entrance off of Woodley Road at the first traffic light.  The building on the left is where the party will be held. The Buffet dinner will be the same price as last year, $17/person.  Everyone who signs up to come must pay – otherwise the club has to foot the bill for you and you don’t want that.  Bring a Dirty Santa gift (around $10) for everyone who wishes to participate.  Every year several of the ladies also bring their favorite desserts.  This is our favorite event and the largest event attended by our members, so plan on coming and having some fun, even if we have not seen you in the while.  You are always welcome.

Toys For Tots – Sunday December 14 at EastChase Shopping Center from 1:00 – 5:00. Exact location to be announced – probably where the Corvette Car Show was held this summer.  Eastchase will be collecting toy donations on Saturday also and will contribute to ask your coworkers and friends to donate some toys for you to bring Sunday.those to us on Sunday.  Plan on bringing either unwrapped toys and/or monetary donations.  Even if you cannot attend this event, plan on contributing something.

Christmas on the Coosa – Saturday, December 13 in Wetumpka.  1983 cars and older only.  Car show from 10:00 – Noon. You can stay for the parade afterwards if you wish.  Larry and Liz Martin are in charge of this show so contact them with additional questions.

December Club Meeting – Due to the Christmas Party in December, there will not be a December GM club meeting.  We will resume our meetings in January.
